Most eaux-de-vie used by Cognac Esprit Organic come from SCEA Domaine de la Grande Versenne in Triac-Lautrait, or from a listed supplier approved HVE and CEC.
High Environmental Value
HVE certification corresponds to level 3 of the environmental certification for French farms. It is based on result indicators covering biodiversity, crop protection strategy, fertilisation and irrigation.
Cognac Environmental Certification
Cognac Environmental Certification is a sector programme led by Cognac stakeholders. It assesses winegrowing practices around five objectives: biodiversity, water, air and soil quality, restriction of synthetic treatments, soil life and carbon restraint.
What it changes
The approach links lots to committed and audited estates, and documents purchases from listed suppliers when supply does not come directly from SCEA Domaine de la Grande Versenne.

The HVE certification of SCEA Domaine de la Grande Versenne is named on data.gouv. For CEC, the public BNIC and Bureau Veritas websites describe the standard, its recognition and the audit process; no equivalent open nominative directory to the HVE file is published to date.
